I have assigned a personal Kahoot for the students to do. They have a week to complete it (Due Thursday May 14 by 5:00pm). It's to review farm animals and will be entered as a Reading grade.
Here is the link. It will also be posted on my blog (madamekorpalski.weebly.com). kahoot.it/challenge/06668942?challenge-id=7599118b-6307-42fe-a827-83a6d5c0fd56_1588878306410 As always, let me know if you have questions or any issues. Enjoy your weekend. Madame Korpalski

Bonjour mes élèves. Merci to those of you who have been joining me in the Zoom classrooms. Here is the presentation from class today as well as some videos. You can also do the interactive worksheets in the two previous posts, but they are just for practice so they will not be graded.

liveworksheets.com Good evening parents,
To reduce the amount of confusion and background noise, and so I can better focus on students and the content, I have split the levels. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade French classes will be together and 3rd and 4th grades will be a separate class. Since I made this change there will now be a different meeting number for the classes, but this should remain the same for each class from now on. I have moved the Kinder-2nd class to 1:00-1:20 and 3rd/4th will remain at 1:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please find the login in information below. Should you have any questions, please message me here on Dojo or email me at [email protected]. Thank you for your understanding and support, Madame Korpalski All meetings @ zoom.us Kinder-2nd grade Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00-1:20 Meeting ID: 946 0519 4722 Password: French 3rd & 4th Grades Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:30-1:50pm Meeting ID: 936 4817 8356 Password: French Dear Parents,
I have been thinking of you and hope you and your families are well. Remote learning for CPS begins Monday, April 13. The program I am using to connect to your child for the interactive portion of the student’s school day is called Zoom . We have tested it and have found it to be relatively easy to use for young students. Zoom will allow your student to see us teaching live and interact with us during lessons and for us to see and hear them. Zoom is available via a URL (https://zoom.us/) or through an App that you can download for your digital device. If you are not comfortable with your child using Zoom in this way, you must sign an opt-out letter, which is attached, and submit it to me via Dojo. Otherwise, there is no need to fill out any CPS form to use Zoom. Instruction will begin promptly at the assigned time, so please allow time beforehand to open the program and get signed in. Please be sure your student has paper (hopefully their French notebook) and pencil available during the lessons. Please click on this link and enter the following information to join our class meeting: https://zoom.us/j/93648178356?pwd=akpCK2dKWGp2WGxUQmY1anJ5WGZZdz09 Meeting ID: 936 4817 8356 Password: French Kindergarten through 4th grade will have class Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:30-2:00pm. I will be holding office hours daily from 9am-11am. During this time, you and your child will be able to communicate with me to ask a question or just check in using your Dojo account. Thank you for your patience and support as we learn together in this new format. Sincerely, Madame Korpalski Zoom opt-out letter docs.google.com/document/d/13ThbvdjhfbDkIyCCdtK_bLXKy53wtYp6Iy2oS9iQuOk/preview Have you been sitting around watching TV? Let's get up and get moving! Ask your brothers, sisters, and parents to join in too! Bonjour 2nd graders! You may remember this from last year. Try to remember all your animals and colors in French. Enjoy the story and then sing along with me at the end. À bientôt!
French resources for Kindergarten -3rd grades While we unfortunately cannot be together during this strange time in world history, please know that I am thinking of you and if you need anything you can email me during this break from school ([email protected]). Here are some resources you can access: Quizlet: www.quizlet.com Search for MKorpalski1 and then choose the classroom you are in. You can study whatever topic we are currently working on, but I highly encourage you to go back and review some topics from previous years to refresh your memory. Especially make sure you know your numbers and colors because those are things we always use. Another vocabulary review site with an array of different games is www.french-games.net. Choose a topic to review and a game to play. Amuse-toi! Free Rice: A vocabulary review game that also helps feed hungry people around the world. Go to www.freerice.com and click on the 3 lines in the upper left corner. Click on categories and choose French (or Geography). Watch your bowl of rice fill up with each correct answer. This may be too difficult for the younger students. Here is what each class is currently studying: Kinder and 1st: farm animals – les animaux de la ferme 2nd: Clothes – les vêtements 3rd: completing months of the year and seasons – les mois de l’année et les saisons. We will wait until we return to begin our next unit, but please review everything from 1st, 2nd and the beginning of 3rd grade. Please also check out my website with Youtube videos and other resources for each topic: www.madamekorpalski.weebly.com. Stay safe and healthy. Sincerely, Madame Korpalski Click the link to print out some activity sheets for 2nd grade students studying clothes (les vêtements).
2nd grade students are currently learning clothes and how to say what someone is wearing. Je porte...I wear, I am wearing... Tu portes... You wear, you are wearing... Il porte... He wears, he is wearing... Elle porte... She wears, she is wearing... Remember, when describing clothes the color comes after the article of clothing. Example. Aujourd'hui je porte un pull bleu et un pantalone noir. Students can review on Quizlet: quizlet.com/44101527/les-vetements-flash-cards/ or at french-games.net: www.french-games.net/frenchlessons?topic=People%20-%20clothes%201&level=primary Here are some helpful videos: |
